This family photoshoot in Chicago’s South Loop was incredibly special because of this wonderful family. The two kiddos were so sweet and hilarious, and Olive was so attentive to her little brother. Oscar, the youngest, had a GREAT time getting his photo taken and thrived in front of the camera. With silly faces and lots of smiles, this family photoshoot is one for the books.
We started with photos of just Dad and Oscar while the rest of the family got ready, and Oscar was so interested in the camera. Definitely one of the most photogenic babies I’ve ever met.
I loved getting little detail shots of Oscar pulling on his dad’s face – it felt like a quintessential parenthood moment.
Olive joined us, and I was able to capture one of my all time favorite pictures of her holding Oscar’s hand. She’s such a great big sister.
It was then playtime with Bluey, the best of the best!
Mom joined and she and Olive had a long session of surprising each other around the corner. Endless laughs – Olive was so happy!
We then had snuggle time, and I loved getting to document the tenderness in how she cares for her children. It was so beautiful.
We then took a little break for the kids to have a snack. I loved their plant setup!
Costume change! Oscar wanted to get this soft and cozy outfit on. So cute!
Olive is working on reading, so we got to have some sweet moments reading as a whole family and then her and her dad reading just the two of them. Her favorite book was Moana, and she pronounced it “Monana” – which made my heart just melt.
We had some coloring time, and then the kiddos were free to run off and take a rest.
I always love to end my family sessions with pictures of just the parents. Parents don’t often get couples photos, and don’t often get to have the time to just focus on their love for each other during a shoot. This little pocket of time was so beautiful and reflective, and the parents shared that it was incredibly meaningful to get to slow down together.
What a sweet time! Family photoshoots here in our beloved Chicago make my heart so full.
